Well hello again apologies for the absence but I have been a bit busy recently. I was trying to get to the bottom of what was happening to my team, no payments, players missing etc. etc. and now the second week of the season frozen off. After reading alot of rubbish I think I know the problem and that is we are broke unlike the mafia team. What I dont understand is how we are broke. Where are all the rich prople who went to the school and where is there money. Lets face it Mafia is bankrolling the canaries and where does his moeny come from!!!!
My dogs are in good condition if anybody cares and I am glad the weather has been so good in Cleveland recently that we have had them out in the Metroparks for some fresh air!
Musings on supporting Galatasaray Soccer Team and occasionally other items of interest to me

Start of the Season
So the Turkish soccer season has restarted finally after the winter break. My team which is Galatasaray in my opinion the only team worth supporting in Turkey managed to scrape a win in the restart match against Konyaspor. Pele once said that football is the beautiful game, well let me tell you he probably never watched a match like this one. Even as a Galatasaray supporter it was hard work to watch and most definitely was not beautiful. Still the result was all that matter given that the mafia team, Fenerbahce, had won their match on Friday. So we are now 4 points behind the cheats and 17 matches left in the season so plenty of time to catch them and overcome them.
On a more serious note I have been embarassed by the way the Turkish Government handled the recent bird flu crisis. Sometimes I depair of my countrymen, whilst the rest of the world issues internet, tv and radio messages our Prime Minister suggests that information should be spread through Friday Prayers at the mosque. Ok some parts of the country do not have such good communications but Imams as the main method of information in this daya and age. And then people in Turkey wonder why the EU have a negative image of us!!!!!
If you are interested in reading more about Turkey and its politics check out Turkish Torque whose link you can find to the side.
Anyway I have to go and take my dogs for a walk so bye for now.

Before I forget
Hi everybody,
Today is the last day of the Kurban Bayram in Turkey, which means "Slaughter Bayram" in English. It is without doubt the worst time of the year for me and is enough to make me want to be a vegetarian. So please take a moment to think of all the poor animals killed in the last few days due to a religious belief.

Kimi had a trim update
So finally I got Kimi to the groomers and got him trimmed. His new look can be seen in the attached photo. I think he looks very handsome now. Unfortunatley because he now has short hair and its damn cold in Cleveland at this time of year he now has to wear a coat when we go for our walks, but hey its better than looking like a dishevelled rat.I am not sure whether hea likes to wear the coat and certainly Lucky is always very suspicious of him when he wears it but better to perhaps look strange than get cold.
Anyway I have over the last couple of weeks been trying to start another home based business but it seems like a money pit. I signed up for something called plug in profits and was promised 30 days of training and that there would be no costs after I had the website site up. So I followed all the advice whihc included setting up this blog, although I am now enjoying this, and after 14 days the lessons stopped. Are these schmes scams, does anyone have any experience of them that is good? I seem to be spending a lot of time and effort for not much reward!
Anyway the Turkish soccer league is still on its winter break. Unfortunatley the National Team did not qualify for the World Cup in Germany this summer so there is no reason for the league to finish early like the English Premier League is. That means I am missing my team Galatasary playing! Its worse than giving up smoking...
I think thats enough for today,
bye for now and check out my web site at

Kimi gets a trim
In my last post I talked about why I work at home and some of the benefits that it brings me, like being able to spend time with my two dogs, Lucky and Kimi. These are two dogs that I resuced from the streets of Istanbul and then brought with me when I moved to the US. You can see their pictures here, Lucky is the black dog and Kimi is the white one. I am not sure exactly how old they are or even what breed they are but I love them anyway.
So today it is time for Kimi to have a haircut and bath. The first time I tried this I used a normal set of hair clippers on him with baaad results. He looked like a pineapple when I had finished. So now I am taking him to a professional this afternoon and will take the opportunity to do a spot of shopping whilst he is being sorted.
And thats why I work from home, if I worked in an office I would have to do these things at the weekend and rush and hurry. This way I get less stress and more time. Think about it when you are considering what to do with your life.
I will be back soon with a picture of the new Kimi.

Why work at home
You know I am fairly new to this blog business and also the whole internet home business. One thing I have already learnt is that there is an awful lot of smoke and mirrors out there that goes by the name of easy money. Anyway I am going to see if I can make a go of this for a while, I mean I can always get a proper job if I wanted to.
Why do I and why should you want to work from home?
First of all it makes me some money, not a huge amount but enough to buy some of the finer things in life.
As I set my own hours and work when I feel like it I get the chance to spend time with my seven cats and two dogs. Kimi, one of my dogs, has a bad habit of peeing on the floor if he is left alone during the day so by working at home I can try to make sure this does not happen too often!!!
Thirdly I can watch Galatasaray play football whenever I want and never miss a game. I am a Cim Bom fanatic and with living in the US the time difference is a killer meaning that matches are shown at lunchtime during the week. If I had a Boss he might get suspicious if I had a sick day every time they played.
So I get the freedom to work when I wnat and I get the benefits of being with my pets, what more can I ask for. Well I wish my husband would start to pick up his socks and stop snoring but that is another matter entirely.
So if you feel the urge to try something different take a look at my web site:

Advertising Your Home Business on a Budget
Advertising Your Home Business on a Budget
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy

When you are starting out in a new home business
and no one knows who you are, one of the greatest
challenges you will face is how to drum up new
business.
If there were not people in your community or
marketplace that you knew who needed your
products or services, you probably would not have
started your business to begin with. But, once
you have talked to those who you personally knew
who needed your what you offer, then your next
task is to find others who will help keep your
doors open.
Many people know that they must turn to
advertising at some point in the future, but they
hope that day will be long down the road. For
some, this utopian concept will come to fruition.
But for the rest of us in the real world, we must
come up with creative solutions for meeting our
home business advertising needs while working
within our budget.
Most people have a misconception about having to
spend lots of money in order to advertise their
home business. When you start out, you honestly
will not have much money available for
advertising, and if you do, you should still
spend it wisely.
Before you jump headfirst into the world of
advertising, let me share some of the lessons I
have learned concerning this most important topic.
LESSON #1
It does not have to cost an arm and a leg to
advertise your home business, unless you fail to
plan and fail to test.
As much as is possible, you should always test
your advertising. If you jump in and start
dumping tons of money in to advertising without
first testing your advertising, you might find
yourself broke and without sales at the end of
the road. Most people who commit this error write
off their failure on the home business they chose
or the economy or any of a hundred other excuses.
But, if they are unwilling to take responsibility
for their mistake, they will never learn from
their mistake. Don't let this be you.
LESSON #2
All testing should be done in blocks. If you
begin to advertise simultaneously in newspapers,
radio and television, how will you know which
advertising is bringing people to your cash
register? You won't. All you will know that
something might be working, but you will not know
what is actually doing the trick.
Even if you tell people in your advertising to
tell you how they found you, my experience shows
that fewer than 10% of the people ever will tell
you anything --- and those people who do may not
even get the facts straight! You cannot rely on
your customers to tell you what advertising is
working for your home business. You must put in
the extra effort to know for yourself.
LESSON #3
Only when you have a proven and solid advertising
portfolio should you venture to drop big bucks in
an advertising campaign. Even then, you should be
careful to keep further measurements to determine
how much the maximum advantage of an ad would be.
Sometimes you might be able to reach ten times as
many people, but depending on the kind of media
and other factors, the additional exposure will
only generate twice as many sales. Keep your eye
attuned to situations like this to get the most
from your advertising dollars.
LESSON #4
As Lesson #3 illustrates, sometimes your best
advertising investment may actually cost you less
money. When you are first starting out, whether
you are running a home business or a business
outside of your home, you need to be able to get
people talking and thinking about your business.
If you are busy testing ads in media's such as
the newspaper, magazines, radio, and television,
you need to learn ways of promoting your business
that do not require large cash expenditures. A
few examples are:
· Word of Mouth
· Business Cards
· Press Releases
· Non-Primetime Ads on Radio and Television
Here is more information about each type of
low-cost advertising:
WORD OF MOUTH
This of course is the cheapest kind of
advertising on the planet --- it does not cost
you anything. Ask your customers if they know
anyone who could also use your products or
services. When they are happy with your offerings
and service, they will be willing to tell you
whom you can contact, and they will pass the
word for you.
BUSINESS CARDS
You can usually pick up 500 business cards for
about $20. When you do, hand them out. Do not
give more than a couple of cards to each person.
If they need more cards from you, they will ask.
Some people are known to network with others on a
regular basis. Some of these people are also
known to be always looking for an extra few
bucks. With these people, you can suggest to them
that if they write their name on the back of one
of your business cards and the card is presented
to you, then you will pay a referral fee to them.
You do not have to offer much --- sometimes one
dollar is enough. Look at your home business and
your offerings and decide how much would be a
good referral fee.
PRESS RELEASES
Press Releases are a good source for generating
news about your home business. The business
editor at your local newspaper is always on the
lookout for a good business story to fill the
business news section of the newspaper.
Of course, the business editor understands the
economics of running a paper and is more inclined
to run your story if you buy advertising in
his/her publication, but will still print
stories for special events and openings.
The important thing to remember about Press
Releases is that it must be constructed in the
form of a news story. Even if you are a sole
proprietorship, quotes from you should be written
in a third person format: John Doe said, "Your
quote here."
A Press Release should pack the most important
information at the beginning of the copy, and
leave extra details towards the end.
You should always provide the reporter who gets
the task a simple and easy way for him/her to
contact you directly. Often the reporter will
want to contact you to get details that will
enhance their take on your story.
NON-PRIMETIME ADS ON RADIO AND TELEVISION
Believe it or not, some of the best rates for
radio and television are on the overnight and
non-primetime venues. These target times are not
a total waste as they can easily keep the
infomercial people in business.
These off-hours are just less populated than the
primetime hours.
Don't be afraid to check your local radio and
television rates for non-primetime hours to see
what bargains may exist. With television,
primetime is 7pm to 10pm. With radio, primetime is
8am to 5pm. This sure leaves a whole lot of hours
available to advertise your home business at
discount rates!
IN CONCLUSION
When it comes down to it, there is a lot to
understand about advertising, but when you have
the basic knowledge down pat, everything will
fall into place and bring more dollars to your
bank account.
